Rick Simpson’s Cannabis Oil Recipe
Take an ounce of dried cannabis, which typically produces about 3-4 grams of cannabis oil. A pound of dried cannabis produces about an ounce of high quality hemp oil.
Note: Be extremely careful when boiling the solvent since the flames are highly flammable. Avoid red hot heating elements, stove-tops, sparks, and smoking. It is also recommended to do choose a well-ventilated locatin and use a fan to blow fumes away from the pot.
Instructions:
Put the dried cannabis in a plastic bucket and use a solvent of choosing to dampen the material. You can use ether, water, butane, 99% isopropyl alcohol, or naphtha and you will need two gallons of the one you decide to use.
Crush the cannabis using a wooden stick and pour the solvent over it, making sure it is well soaked in the liquid. Stir the mixture for a few minutes and at this point the THC should be dissolved into the solvent. Pour the solvent in separate bucket and by now you should have stripped about 80 percent of the THC.
Add the solvent again and stir for another three minutes before pouring it into the first bucket. Disposeof the plant material and strain the mixture using a coffee filter.
The next thing you should do is to boil the solvent in a rice cooker. As mentioned in the very beginning, avoid cigarettes, sparks, red hot elements, and stove-tops as the fumes are flammable. Add solvent, making sure ¾ of the cooker is full, and then set on high heat. Use a fan to blow the solvents away and continue adding mixture into the cooker until the solvent evaporates.
Add about ten drops of water for each pound of dry material, which helps prevent overheating and release the solvent residue. When there is about one inch of solvent-water mixture in the rice cooker, reduce the heat, swirl the contents until the solvent has actually finished boiling off.
Reduce the heat , making sure it doesn’t reach more than 140˚ C. Remove the pot and pour the mixture in a dehydrator or a coffee warmer. It may take a few hours but the water and volatile terpenes will be vaporized from the oil. The oil is ready to use when there is not any surface activity on the oil.
Note: Consult a doctor about the doses you should take. It usually takes the average person about 90 days to ingest the full 60 gram or 60 ml oil treatment.
